Access from Major Highways and Interstates
From Wichita, Emporia, Ottawa, Kansas City areas:
Interstate 35 to Exit 155 (Lyndon/Burlington exit), then 10 miles south on U.S. Highway 75 to New Strawn. Turn west on 16th Road, bear left at the fork in the road. Continue SW about 1/2 way across the dam to access road (see map above).
From Topeka, Yates Center areas:
U.S. Highway 75 north or south to New Strawn, KS. Turn west on 16th Road, bear left at the fork in the road. Continue SW about 1/2 way across the dam to access road (see map above).
| John Redmond Reservoir is located about 1 mile west of U.S. Highway 75 at New Strawn, Kansas. Turn at 16th Road off U.S. Highway 75 in New Strawn. Riverside West can be accessed from the dam road (Embankment Road SW). Drive south across the dam about one-half way then turn left onto the access road, then left at the "T" at the bottom of the hill.
