September 6-7, 2008

Bring the family and come on out for a weekend of free food, camping, outdoor activities, and fun!

Whether you camp for free Friday & Saturday nights (please, no pets in the Riverside West campgrounds) or just come out for the activities Saturday and Sunday, plan to have some great outdoor, family fun at the annual Outdoor Kansas for Kids Coffey County event. Not only are the camping and activities free but three, free meals are included for participants.

John Redmond Reservoir's Riverside West campgrounds is transformed into activity stations that explore a variety of outdoor activities like archery, crafts, canoeing, rock wall climbing, and more. Click here to see all activities.

Saturday's events begin with a Catch & Release Fishing Tourney at New Strawn's City Lake then free lunch at the campgrounds. Ongoing and scheduled activities start at 12:30 and run to 9:00 pm on Saturday followed by a breakfast and youth church service Sunday morning. Click here to see the schedule.

Shuttle service is provided throughout the day Saturday from the parking lot to all events in the campgrounds and the Trap Shoot activity.

Wristbands

Kids, be sure to get your wristband at the camp entrance, the fishing derby, or from a shuttle driver. Kids participating in the OK Kids Coffey County activities will be issued a wristband that has a tear-off number. Your wristband must be worn and be intact to be eligible for the prize drawings immediately following the Saturday evening BBQ. It is also required for rides on the shuttle if an adult is not with you.

You can be part of the success of this annual event through sponsorship or by volunteering. You do not have to be a Coffey County business or resident!

August 10th was the cut-off date to be included on the sponsor list printed on the 2008 OK Kids Coffey County tee-shirts but sponsorships are still welcome for the 2008 event.
